Understanding the nature of numbers - Commonly Misunderstood numbers

One of the things I see numerology students just starting out is a tendency to see certain numbers as good or bad. The truth is all numbers can manifest in a positive or negative way depending on a person's personality traits and, in the context of transits, depending on what other cycle numbers are present which may influence the way the energy can play out and of course our awareness of how these energies work and what we do with that energy when we encounter it. Knowledge and understanding the nature of numbers is empowering. For example many Numerology students think that the number 9 is "bad". The number 9 represents the ending of a cycle - keywords - endings and completions. It is natural to assume that this could mean endings of jobs or relationships and it often does but that 9 transit can also mean attainment of long held goals after a time of long sacrifice such as completing a degree or higher education of some sort goal. It can also mean moving on from an unfulfilling job to a much better option. Many people migrate or do a major physical move under a 9 transit. Maybe there is sadness associated with that move but ultimately it can be a move towards a better life.
Similarly the number 8 is often misunderstood. Many people associate the number 8 with wealth, money promotion and advancement - and it often does manifest just like that. If you have worked hard, been ethical and fair in your dealings and truly applied yourself and done your homework the 8 can be a very rewarding transit. It can be a good time to buy an sell property for example (depending on the other transiting influences) or a good time to start a business or obtain that promotion or new job. However the number 8 is about reaping what you sow. It is very karmic. If you start out in this transit with an aim to make money by taking short cuts or investing in high risk options without the necessary knowledge, training or experience it can be a disaster. I have seen many businesses boom under this transit and an equal number of failures. Wisdom from experience is what this 8 describes. What you sew you shall reap under this energy.
Another face to the 8 in line with karma is justice and fairness. Sometimes in a relationship an 8 transits can prompt decisions and awareness of the balance between what you give and receive in all types of relationships. The energy is not confined to business matters although this transit often comes up in divorce settlements and legal battles. It is very important to be aware the the 8 is about rewards and consequences. If you spend your energy seeking after money for money sake or you are focused on vengeance or causing harm to another the universe will bounce that negative energy back at you with equal force. Similarly in business if you are focused on delivering good service and conduct good business practices with an aim to always be ethical and diligent you will most likely reap the rewards for the efforts you have put in. These are all possibilities. There are no good or bad numbers but understanding the way they can manifest and how best to use them can help you make the most of the possible positive manifestations.
