The Court Cards Cards often present great difficulty for students in interpretation. They can

represent people with particular personality traits and and attributes and situations in terms

of development of an idea, thought or action.

It is always important to look at the element first.

For example in the suit of Cups. The page can represent children, Knights young adults, Queens adult women and Kings adult men with the qualities of the suit and element water sensitivity, caring, affection, kind, reflective, intuitive, compassionate. They can also represent stages in development of emotion. eg. the page of cups often turns up when a client meets someone they like but they are very cautious to allow the situation to develop further Pages can also represent affection in platonic relationships. Knights always represent movement and progress. In the suit of cups it can literally be the spirit of romance entering a clients life ie someone new, development of a relationship, proposal or a romantic gesture or an offer of some sort. The Queen is further development and The King is the full development in an emotional situation or relationship and represents stability, security and commitment. However the court cards in the suit of cups are not limited to just relationships. They can turn up in a business or career spread indicating job offers, emotional satisfaction and commitment to principles and ethics in the work environment. It can take time and practice to work out what the message is in a spread. If you would like to know more register for my Topic Tutorial on the Court cards on Friday 3rd October 9.30 am - 11.30 am.
