The High Priestess No 2 in the Major Arcana
The High Priestess
When the High Priestess appears it is time to trust your intuition. There is much potential in the situation at hand and a promise of more to come. This card is the night before day and the pomegranate seeds show potential yet to be revealed - like seeds before they become the fruit. The High Priestess sits between the two pillars in Solomon’s temple - Jachin, and Boaz. Jachin (right) is generally referred to as the Pillar of Establishment and Boaz (left) is the Pillar of Strength. The pillars also depict the duality of nature; masculine and feminine, good and evil, negative and positive just like the number 2 itself. The implication is a need for balance in both aspects of your nature – the masculine and feminine; the action and intuitive side. The appearance of the high priestess is asking you to get in touch with your feminine intuitive side and to trust your instincts in the situation. She encourages you to develop your intuitive potential through study, meditation or other forms of learning. Note the scroll in her lap. Welcome her when she appears. There is a promise of fulfilment and abundance to come. Keywords: potential to come, intuition, spiritual learning.
