8 of Cups

Good morning everyone. Today we are looking at another tough card - The 8 of Cups. Do not dread this card but welcome it as a sign of healing and being ready to move on in your life.

The 8 of Cups is another card that triggers feelings of grief and loss. Regardless of who makes the decision or what the situation is there is a sacrifice required where what has been built on in the past must be left behind and you must move forward and abandon what has gone before. (The 8 cups in the foreground represent the emotional investment involved)

The number 8 is generally represents the products of investments, rewards for efforts, justice and fairness however in the suit of CUPS which is all about emotion the number 8 manifests as personal and growth as a result of the emotional investment in a relationship but can also relate to anything that you have been deeply committed to in the past or invested yourself in some way. When the 8 of cups turns up in a reading it may reflect a past relationship that you are still recovering from and attached to or you may feel that something is missing from your current relationship and you may be having thoughts of moving on. It often turns up for my clients when a relationship is over and they are still grieving the loss and healing from it.

There is sacrifice involved as all the Cups are left behind in this image and there is a sense of abandonment as we see the man walking off into the distance but this movement forward and away is necessary for further growth and fulfilment in life. New relationships, new friends a new job or new home are all on the horizon when this card turns up. When you see this card try to see the positive in it – meaning you are clearing your energies ready for love and happiness to come into your life again.

It is important to note that this card can turn up in relation to anything where there has been a significant emotional investment - not just one on one romantic relationships. It could also relate to children, a close friendship or a particular goal, project or even career. It is the feeling associated with it that is important to recognise.

Keywords: moving on, sacrifice, personal development, Leaving behind something or a past relationship.

Take it easy today. Be kind to yourself. Look to the future with positivity. If you are sad about a relationship that has ended remember that you have been happy before and you can be happy again. Being true to yourself and recognising your own worth and the need for balance in relationships (also contained in the meaning of the 8) can bring love back into your life. ♥️🍀🌻🙏
