Jesus Christ Numerology
Good morning everyone. Well we are coming up to Christmas so I thought I would have a look at some Christmas Numerology
Most of the references to Jesus’ numerology follow the Chaldean system rather than the Western Pythagorean system I use.
Both give an end result of spirituality that describes his personality and his life well. In the Chaldean system his Expression number is a 9 – compassionate, giving, caring, empathetic, spiritual, enlightened etc.
Below is the Numerology for the Chaldean system of calculation
J E S U S C H R I S T
1 5 3 6 3 3 5 2 1 3 4
9 + 9 = 18
1 + 8 = 9
Now with the Pythagorean system, Western Numerology that I use:
J E S U S C H R I S T
1+5+1+3+1 3 + 8 + 9+9+1+2 Total 16/7
The 16/7 is karmic and implies a need to grow spiritually from life’s experiences. Jesus certainly had a life full of spiritual learning and teaching, upheaval and personal trauma leading to enlightenment and spiritual growth. The 16/7 involves development of the self (1) through service to others (6) – leading to insight, wisdom and knowledge (7)
Both systems give him a spiritual expression number that you would expect.
As for his date of birth – that is far more complicated.
The Bible itself tells us that December 25 is an unlikely date for his birth. Palestine is very cold in December. It would have been too cold to ask people to travel to the city to register for their taxes. Also the shepherds were in the fields (Luke 2:8-12). Shepherds were not in the fields in the winter time. They were in the fields early in March until early October. This would place Jesus' birth in the spring or early autumn. It is also known that Jesus lived for 33.5 years and died at the feast of the Passover, which is at Easter time. He must therefore have been born six months the other side of Easter - making the date around the September/October.
The church officially proclaimed December 25 as the birth of Christ. This was not based on any religious evidence but on a pagan feast. Saturnalia was a tradition carried over by the Roman pagans, December 25 was used as a celebration of the birthday of the sun god. It was observed near the winter solstice.
A Roman monk named Dionysius Exiguus set up the "AD" system in about 500 CE. AD stands for Anno Domini which simply means 'The year of our lord' and it refers to the year when Jesus Christ was born. BC is before Christ. Some now replace this terminology with CE Common era.
However most historians actually assume Jesus’ year of birth to be between 6 and 4 BC and that Jesus' preaching began around AD 27–29 and lasted one to three years. They calculate the death of Jesus as having taken place between AD 30 and 36.
Have a lovely day. I hope you have done all your Christmas shopping. I will post again before Christmas. Take care.
